UK - Donation to Julia's House Hospice
Julia's House hospice in Dorset, England is dedicated to maximising and enriching the quality of life of children with life threatening or limiting illnesses. Qualcomm recently donated £30,000 to Julia's House to sponsor a nurse for one year, extending the care the charity is able to offer children.
UK - Qualcomm provides funding for scholarships at University of Oxford
Reflecting Qualcomm's commitment to fostering exceptional talent and extending innovation into new markets, the Company provided £330,000 (US$500,000) to establish four scholarships aimed at supporting top Master of Science (MSc) graduates of the University of Oxford's Biomedical Engineering (BME) programme.
UK - Qualcomm makes donation to RNIB to enhance the education of blind and partially sighted children
The Royal National Institute for Blind People (RNIB) recently received a donation of £56,000 from Qualcomm to help make essential tactile and large print graphic images available to blind and partially sighted children in the UK.
Qualcomm employees have also demonstrated their commitment to the cause by swapping their laptops and whiteboards for spades and pruning shears, as they volunteered to build a Sensory Garden at RNIB Peterborough. The result is a peaceful garden setting, full of plants with bright colours and fragrant smells, all supported by tactile signage.
Germany - Donation assists children suffering from psychological trauma
Qualcomm has donated €74,000 (US$100,000) to the Krisen-Interventions-Team (KIT) in Munich, Germany, which offers emergency services to those suffering from psychological trauma after extreme events or experiences.
