James Lederer serves as executive vice president of Qualcomm CDMA Technologies (QCT) Business Planning and Finance. QCT is the world's largest provider of wireless chipsets and software solutions. As EVP, Lederer is responsible for overseeing the QCT Finance and Accounting organisations and also heads the division's Programme Management activities. He provides leadership for business planning activities plus operational accounting and controls for all of QCT's domestic and international sites. In addition, he is a member of Qualcomm's executive committee. Lederer joined the Company in 1997 as a senior manager in Qualcomm's Corporate Strategic Finance Group, bringing 15 years of business and financial experience to the role. Quickly advancing within the organisation, in 1999 he joined QCT, Qualcomm's largest division. He was promoted to vice president in 2001, assuming responsibility for the entire QCT Finance organisation worldwide. Prior to taking on his current role as EVP of Business Planning and Finance, he served for three years as senior vice president on QCT's senior management team, playing a key role in the growth of the division during this time. Lederer's earlier career includes a seven-year stint at General Motors where he was responsible for the worldwide financial analysis and corporate reporting of a USD 1.8 billion division. Immediately prior to joining the Qualcomm team, he spent four years at Motorola, working with multiple business units and manufacturing facilities, including as finance manager within the company's cellular products division. Lederer has been active in coaching community youth athletics and volunteer church activities for more than twenty-five years. He earned a bachelor of science in business administration and finance and a masters degree in business administration, both awarded by the State University of New York at Buffalo.
